Remember those orange vinyl chairs that your grandparents relegated to the back verandah because they were too loud for a modern kitchen? Or the warty green glass vase in the china cabinet? You know the one, nestling near the sugar pot decorated with geometric orange and brown fruit.
Ginger’s Coffee studio in Goodwood has an amazing collection of vintage furnishings. And they make amazing food.
On our last visit I sampled the omelette, with porcini mushrooms and goats cheese. The hard goats cheese had melted into moon-shaped pools which contrasted perfectly with the intense flavour of the mushrooms.
I had it with Enzos gluten-free bread, which is a local Adelaide product. It doesn’t beat my favourite gluten-free bread Deeks, but it has a good texture.
Ginger’s is a great place to relax, enjoy good food, and sip coffee or a mug of tea. Plus you can enjoy the local artworks and vintage decor.
And remember, when the time comes to decide which of Grandma’s 70s kitsch is going to Vinnies, this is your chance to furnish your vintage lounge bar.
